NABO FALL MEETING

7pm-Reception (RSVP Req’d) Ray and Edith Aspiri have kindly offered to host a small evening reception for those that have arrived into Seattle early. (Their condo is upstairs from where we will be having the meeting on Saturday. -SEE Members Welcome-

Reno NABO Report Amaya Club membership fee
is currently $50 per club plus .50 per person.  Motion passed to raise per person fee from
.50 to $1 per person.  .25 will go to
Aita Tillous Youth Aid Fund, .75 to NABO. This will take effect in 2010.  At the October meeting they will discuss raising the flat fee from $50 to $100 per club.  SEE
agreed to vote in favor of motion

 

Global Association
of Basque Entities – tabled to next meeting

 

.eus domain
campaign.  There is a movement to
create an “.eus” domain name.  Motion
passed for NABO to lend support.

 

NABO secretary
appointment.  Motion passed to let NABO
president appoint NABO secretary from any club rather than home club.

 

Elections – A new
president was elected.  Grace Mainvile
was re-elected to Treasurer position.
She is looking for someone to train to eventually take her place.

 

Reports – Udaleku,
Reno 2010, San Francisco 2011

Mus Tournament,
Winnemuca 2010, 2nd Saturday in June

 

Grants – BG is
moving forward with distributing grant money.
They will not make decisions until September and they expect they will
give out at least 6% less than last year

 

Calendars – $5
each, how many do we want to buy?  Can
we sell in Newsletter or during December membership drive or October dinner?  Amaya
to email Marilou to order 50

 

Argitxu Camus
Etchecopare at UNR is working on a Basque history project on California.  She is interested in any info on Basque
immigrants in CA.  She would probably
be willing to write a blurb for our newsletter. Amaya to coordinate

 

Basque Museum is
creating a exhibit on Basque history that will be exhibited at Ellis Island
in 2010.  They are looking for any
artifacts from Basques that came through Ellis Island among other things.  Include
in newsletter

October NABO
Meeting
Marilou Provide
arrangements to John Ysursa so they can be posted on NABO site and SEE site

Marilou will finalize everything this week

Membership List All Bouncebacks from
emails and mailers.

Gaizka will bring membership list and we will verify
addresses

Summer Picnic All Everyone to arrive between 10-10:30 to set up. Joe will
organize Mus. Amaya will call around to see if anyone can bring a propane
grill due to burn ban in park.
