SEE
Website – Joe
Website re-structure/reformatting
committee

-a) Hiring a webmaster (David T. unless someone from Spring Dinner
would like to volunteer)

-b) Establish short-term web page goals (smooth transition to new
provider,etc) vs long-term (re-design of page)

-c) Things to keep in mind (see below)

SEE WEBSITE-Our webmaster is closing his business. We need to determine how
we wish to proceed.

Options for hosting a
web site:

  • Run a blog at WordPress.com - this is a free service that runs the same software I use for all of my projects. Your address would be businessname.wordpress.com, or you can pay $12 a year to
use a custom domain such as businessname.com (not including the cost
    of registering the domain name).
  • Create a Facebook Page – this
is perhaps the easiest way to connect with a large group of potential
visitors. On the other hand, it could be difficult to keep up with
Facebook’s frequent changes to its terms of service and privacy
settings, and also monitoring comments posted on your page.
More information is available at http://www.facebook.com/pages/learn.php.
  • Host your own site through a
commercial web host – this is what I currently do. Most hosts start at
$5 – $10 a month. This would require fairly technical knowledge
about building and maintaining a web site. I’ve used www.asmallorange.com and www.dreamhost.com and I would recommend
    either of them.

Options for email:

Maintaining a domain
name

We will need to transfer your domain name to your credit card so that you can
handle renewals. Your domain is already pre-paid until January 2013.
The cost to renew after that is around $45 a year, but it is much
cheaper if you purchase a 3 or 5 year renewal.

Non-Profit
501(3)c Info – Joe

-e) 501(c)3 application (Gaizka)
